It's been a few very
very busy years since the release of our first album. In that
time we
have: expanded from a one-man studio project into an eight-piece
band, played many shows in
strange places, had children, created music for movies (Andrew
McIlhenny's "George Bataille's
Story of the Eye" among others), gone back to school, joined
other bands, built a garden shed
on a street corner in Old City and filled it with coffee filters,
lost jobs, found new jobs,
started online radio stations, composed an original score for
Headlong Dance Theater's site-
specific "Hotel Pool" (2004 Live Arts Festival), expanded
from eight musicians to fifteen
musicians and dancers for the creation of a full-length multimedia
piece based on collective
improvisation ("Accumulation Process"), and so forth.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, we made an album.
9 songs of hope, despair, joy, frustration, acceptance, denial,
the genetic lottery, the marketing of tobacco, staying indoors,
going outside, swimming, loving, mild disapproval, and insufficient
rehearsal time in 42 minutes or less.
We're exhausted but happy and hope you will be too.
